For our dealers
This section is for our trade partners in Northern Ireland and Great Britain. The two are different legal regimes and the difference is not cosmetic — read the one that matches where you are selling.
Northern Ireland — EU rules apply
Under the Windsor Framework, Northern Ireland continues to apply EU product law. Radio equipment placed on the Northern Ireland market must comply with Directive 2014/53/EU and carry the CE marking. Conformity was assessed under Module A (internal production control) with no notified body involved, so the CE marking alone is correct and no UKNI marking is required.
Our Northern Ireland dealer is registered in Belfast and is therefore established in Northern Ireland. That establishment satisfies Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020, which requires an economic operator established in the Union or in Northern Ireland. A dealer established in Great Britain would not satisfy it.
Great Britain — a separate regime
Sales into England, Scotland and Wales fall under the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 rather than the Directive. CE marking continues to be recognised in Great Britain, so no separate UKCA marking is required for this product. The importer duties below apply in materially the same form under those Regulations, with the equivalent Great Britain authority in place of a national EU authority.
Your duties as importer
- Keep a copy of the declaration of conformity for ten years and ensure the technical documentation can be made available to market surveillance authorities on request.Art. 12(8)
- Your name and postal address must appear on the equipment, on its packaging, or in a document accompanying it.Art. 12(3)
- Every unit must ship with instructions and safety information in English.Art. 12(4)
- Storage and transport conditions must not jeopardise conformity.Art. 12(5)
- If you have reason to believe a unit is not compliant, stop selling it, tell us immediately, and inform your national authority.Art. 12(7)
